Question by solllirara: How come i had my period after sex without taking any contraceptive pills after that?

I am 17 years old.I had sex on the last day of my period and took the contraceptive pill the very next day.After one week i again had sex and i started bleeding the next day before i took the pills. I don't have any pain and i am sure i am having my period, but i am confused for why my period cycle changed and do i need to take the pill or its okay for i already had my period early.I am so confused please help..waiting for the response

Well, I'm not really sure what pill you are saying you took. If it's one regular birth control pill, I will tell you right now you cannot use this as a day after the fact contraceptive. You need to go to a pharmacy, and get a morning after pill. Regular birth control pills basically force a menstrual cycle in women. So if you just take one or two, and then stop, you will get your period a few days after the fact. It does not mean you could not get pregnant. If you do not take a birth control pill, regularly, and at the same time every day, you lose the effectiveness of the method by more than 30%. So, please, please, please... If you are going to have sex, go to your Planned Parenthood and ask for free condoms, a morning after pill (Plan B), or some birth control pills for REGULAR every day use. And always use condoms when having sex, whether you are on the pill or not. The pill cannot protect you from all the crazy STD's that are out there, and the more protection you have against this, AND pregnancy, the better.
